The City of Mexico Wastewater Treatment Plant is designed to handle 3 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater at the following concentrations:
- Ammonia-Nitrogen (NH3-N) - 25 milligrams per liter (mg/l)
- Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) - 225 mg/l
- Total Suspended Solids (TSS) - 300 mg/l
The collection system consists of:
- 84 miles of pipe ranging in diameter from 6 to 30 inches
- 1900 manholes constructed of brick or concrete
- 13 lift stations
