2018 Concrete - Invitation to Bid

INVITATION TO BID 

FOR THE CITY OF MEXICO, MISSOURI


Sealed bids will be received electronically for the 2018 Concrete Construction Program until 10:00 a.m. local time on the 2nd day of March, 2018, at City Hall, 300 N. Coal St., Mexico, Missouri 65265, at which time and place all bids will be opened and read aloud.

The project consists of concrete street patching and ADA sidewalk/curb ramp upgrades at various locations throughout the City.

All equipment, materials and workmanship must be in accordance with the drawings and specifications on file with the Public Works Director, City of Mexico, 300 N. Coal St., Mexico, Missouri 65265. Copies of the bidding documents may be viewed at www.bidexpress.com/businesses/20330/home?agency=true or by going to www.bidexpress.com and navigating to the Mexico, MO homepage. Bids must be completed electronically through Bid Express using the Digital Signature verification method (allow 7 days for attainment of Digital Signature).

No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60 days after the date of opening of bids.

A certified or cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal.

The City of Mexico hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award.

If this contract involves the construction, reconstruction, demolition, painting, or major repair of any facility of the City, Bidder shall provide a ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their on-site employees within 60 Days of award of the contract. Failure to provide training and maintain documentation of the training, may result in penalties under RSMO 292.675.

Minimum wage rates for this contract shall be prevailing wage rates as determined by the Industrial Commission of Missouri. The wage rates are set forth in the contract documents, and are to be considered as a part of this Invitation to Bid.

The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder complying with the Conditions of the Contract Documents within the Owner’s budget. The Bidder to whom the awards are made will be notified at the earliest possible date. The Owner; however, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in Bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in his interest.
