ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Annual Street Maintenance Microseal Project will be received, by the Public Works Director, 300 N. Coal St. Mexico, Missouri, until 3:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Public Works Director, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm.
Copies of the bidding documents (Invitation to Bid, Instructions to Bidders, Bid form, Agreement form, Construction Performance Bond and Construction Payment Bond forms, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Detailed Specifications and Drawings) desired for bidding purposes may be obtained from the Issuing Office: American Document Solutions, Columbia, MO., at a non-refundable charge of $15 per set.
Cost of Bidding Documents and shipping is non-refundable.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
As a condition for the award of any contract in excess of five thousand ($5,000) the bidders shall supply with their bid a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming it’s enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection with the contracted services. Bidder shall also supply a signed affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who as an unauthorized alien in connection with the contracted services.
If this contract involves the construction, reconstruction, demolition, painting, or major repair of any facility of the City, Bidder shall provide a ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their on-site employees within 60 Days of award of the contract. Failure to provide training and maintain documentation of the training, may result in penalties under RSMO 292.675.
Minimum wage rates for this contract shall be prevailing wage rates as determined by the Industrial Commission of Missouri. The wage rates are set forth in the contract documents, and are to be considered as a part of this Invitation to Bid.
The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The owner further reserves the right to waive any irregularities in any or all bids, and reserves the right to determine which is the most responsive and responsible bidder.
