The Community Development Department oversees several divisions within the City of Mexico including the following:

Department Responsibilities
The Community Development Department is responsible for the preparation and administration of grant applications submitted to the State and Federal governments. This department also coordinates the City’s neighborhood development activities. They also work closely with the City Manager and Economic Development Director to implement the City’s economic and industrial development program.

Supervision is provided through the Community Development Department for the administration of all building codes including property maintenance and fire codes. They oversee all of the City’s planning activities and work with the City Engineer to provide staff support to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
