Telephone and Visitors Survey Results
The Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri or DREAM program completed a Community Telephone Survey for Mexico. I want to thank all of you who took the time to respond to the survey. There were 300 random interviews completed with a margin of era of +- 5.7%. There were 65 questions which took, on average, 13 minutes to complete. Additionally, a Visitors Survey Report was recently finalized with 199 interviews of individuals residing in various zip codes around Mexico. The purpose of the survey was to learn about perceptions of and priorities for Downtown in collaboration with the DREAM initiative.

Organizational Structure Review
Recommendations noted in the Organizational Structure Review represent steps to achieve an Organizational Structure which has the components in place to attain sustainability and drive the Downtown Mexico revitalization well into the future. These recommendations can be implemented in part, or in whole, and there may certainly be other possible scenarios that the City of Mexico leadership feels are more fitting to its unique circumstances. This report simply represents the most effective solution in PGAV’s opinion. Foremost recommendations include: The creation of a Community Development Corporation (CDC), The formation of a Community Improvement District (CID), Creation of a committee to address the economic development and business needs of Downtown Mexico.

Residential Demand Analysis
Within the Residential Demand Analysis a baseline assessment of the current residential housing options in the Downtown revitalization area of Mexico was made. It was concluded by the consultant that: Downtown Mexico has gone through a period of transition as some businesses have moved to other locations in the City, that certain properties downtown are underutilized and loft spaces could be used for housing needs within the downtown, thus complementing the downtown area while creating a separate “neighborhood”, these properties could be utilized by both young working households and seniors creating a positive mix for the area. Residential Demand Analysis Powerpoint Presentation included.
